Maxs' 100km CCC Trail Race31-Aug-2013
after 1 year accumulating points to gain selection into the iconic CCC (part of the ultra trail du mont blanc race series) some trail experience over the next 8 months would become essential. max dillon (fusion ops manager) would take on the 100km race just 8 weeks after ironman austria. training for the whole season was different, ironman tok priority which would build the endurance. But once recovered..hills, hills and more hills in a concise 5-6 week period would hopefully get max in shape.
a race summary from max; 'this tested me more than anything ever. mentally, physically, nutritionally and emotionally. but one thing that stuck in my mond was no matter how low the low points were..once i got to the top of a mountain the highs would be even higher. the kit never lets me down and the combo of the tights and tri top works great in the heat and the changing temperatures through the mountains. the best kit for endurance runners in my opinion.'
max completed the race in 15.57.44 coming 56th overall and 3rd british athlete over the line.
